Client called us out today due to her boiler not firing. Tech went out confirmed Wells McLean 20+ year-old atmospheric boiler is not firing. Tech checked safety devices to ensure they were not locked out 24 V going through all of them. Tech informed client we would have to perform a diagnostic and quoted work. Client approved. Technician tested the electrical control system, and found the flame rollout switch had shorted out. There doesn’t appear to be any burn marks on the flame road switch tech speculates. it shorted out when the boiler was re-lighted if the power was still on. Tech also noted there is a leak above the boiler, which is pooling inside the burner chamber. Tech bypassed the flame roll out switched to continue testing. The boiler boiler would fire up however, the glycol that is pulling inside the burner chamber would ignite, causing excess flame and heat from the boiler causing a dangerous situation is turned off the gas and power to the boiler until repairs can be com

Furnace install. Removed old unit with filter rack. Dropped liner and sealed with high temp. Installed new furnace in base with new filter rack. Grade b2f, and s2s. Did not need to make a transition, but modified plenum. Installed new 4” c vent to hwt and re lit it. Hooked up gas and leak checked. ABC cored a hole below the dryer vent. Had to cut a hole in the ceiling to check for obstructions. Pieces on site. Ran single 3” vent pipe to furnace. Intake is a 2” elbow. Ran drain to floor opening. Hooked up high and low voltage, re using the existing relays and humidifier xfmr. New t stat and 2 co detectors. Ran furnace and checked temps and pressures. Cleaned up Tech came out to perform quality assurance check tech inspected furnace and outdoor venting. Everything looks good. Tech turned off the program setting on the thermostat so now when the client sets it to a specific temperature it’ll stay at that temperature. Client is happy with the install and thank us for coming out today.
Tech came out to perform heating maintenance inspection. Tech tested the heating system: checked gas pressure, temperature, exhaust fan amperage test, blower motor amperage test, flame rectification sensor test, exhaust fan vacuum test Furnace is in great working order at this time. Tech noted some condensation on the up furnace door inside as well as around the vent boot.tech also noted someone tried to glue the vent to the furnace vent boot instead of clamping it down. No current damage noted at this time. Ducts are a bit dirty and humidifier is non functional at this time. Furnace blower motor has a slight wobble Furnace is graded level and condensation drain is clear at this time.

The main bathroom vanity mechanical drain is broken needs to be replaced,also the abs drain line needs to be replaced.Customer have been presented with the option for the work needed,customer approved option #1 new mechanical drain,new abs drain line.(1 year warranty),After the removal of the old and broken mechanical drain line,the vanity sink cast iron is also broken and needs to be replaced.customer have been informed about the situation with the vanity sink,customer will like to supplied new vanity sink to be installed.As courtesy I remove the vanity faucet and the vanity sink for the customer to get the same one.customer will contact clear view office as soon he gets the new vanity sink. Arrived onsite due to concerns with drip from laundry sink After analysis found trap adapter is cross threaded into sink Contact client and let them know threads are built into sink itself and proper fix is to replace laundry sink Client would like to attempt re seal first I’ve let her know this is not a permanent fix and once plastic threads are compromised it’s very difficult to re create seal Remove trap adapter and re seal sink test and no drips as of now (No warranty)
Client called about furnace is in interment and sometimes will only blow cold air tech went out. Client just recently replaced the furnace filter and since the furnace has been operating tech performed a diagnostic and quoted diagnostic client approved tech performed diagnostic and found three error codes recorded on the control board error code number one was high limit. This is likely due to a clogged furnace filter And since the client recently replaced the filter, the system is no longer locking out on high limit. The second error code was failed to ignite this error code came up multiple times, tested the ignition system and found the flame rectification sensor is not working correctly. Tech tried to clean the sensor still was giving off a low reading. Tech also tested the igniter, which was given a high reading of over 60 ohms. The third error code was low fire pressure switch open tech tested exhaust motor and found it is sometimes struggling to satisfied the safety switches
Customer will like to replace the shutoff valve in the main bathroom for the vanity and toilet .customer have been presented with the option for the work needed,customer approved option #1 new shut off valve for the vanity sink and toilet (1 year warranty),Job to do remove old shutoff valve from the vanity sink and toilet.supply and install new shutoff valve for the vanity sink,supply and install new shutoff valve for the toilet main bathroom.complete installation.customer is satisfied with today’s service.

Furnace is in great working order at this time. Tech noted the humidifier pad is calcified and should be replaced however the humidifier is using soft water and should not be calcified this is an indication that the water softener isn’t working correctly. Tech informed client and quoted work. Client declined for now and thanked us for coming out.

Tech returned November 10 to install new humidifier and remove HEPA filter and then patch the holes disassembled all humidifier and installed new one wired it to the furnace and installed new humid thermostat tested system working well. Tech then removed old HEPA filter and patched the ductwork. Client thanked us for coming out and was happy with today’s service.

Today I came to Paul’s Rideau Park home because the boiler is not heating the home. Upon inspection I found no error codes and the boiler itself was at temperature. I felt the boiler loop and it is not hot. I can feel the boiler pump is working in all 3 speeds but still no flow. This indicates the 3 way valve has failed and needs to be replaced. I called and confirmed the diagnosis with Navien tech support who is sending the replacement part out to us after which we will return for warranty repairs.
Today I came to Vince and Dasha’s Somerset home to perform the family plan furnace service. Family plan furnace service: Upon tune up and inspection of the 31 year old system I tested and adjusted the gas valve, burners, gas pressure and temperature rise. Tested thermocouple. Tested ignition system, inducing motor and assembly, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger, humidifier, static pressures, tested and tightened all electrical connections, all safety switches and control board. The furnace is in poor condition. The inducing motor is over amperage and starting to show some bearing ware. The thermocouple is only giving 9 millivolts when it should ideally be 20 or above. The gas valve was putting out too high gas pressure of 3.8” water column which I corrected to 3.5”. The control board, safety switch’s, and blower motor are all working well within manufacturers specifications however the control board does have an over heated resistor.
